This has to be a joke. Please tell me this isn’t real.
NYPost.com – Relatives of a woman whose body was stolen from a Roman Catholic cemetery on Long Island announced yesterday they are offering a $30,000 reward for the return of her remains.
“The taking of her body has shattered our peace, and the inability to know that our mother is at rest will haunt us until we can find her,” Brooklyn attorney Stefano Filippazzo said in a statement on behalf of his family.
The remains of his grandmother, Mattia Filippazzo, were stolen from a mausoleum at St. Charles Cemetery in East Farmingdale sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning. She was 88 when she died in 1998, Stefano Filippazzo said.
The culprits vandalized two other mausoleums before entering the Filippazzo family mausoleum, police said. They removed the woman’s casket and left with her remains.
What do you want to bet it’s a couple of sickos looking to get some before summer’s over? That’s the only way to explain why 2 people would steal the corpse of an 88-year-old that’s been chillin’ in a coffin for 12 years. I mean, it’s not like it’s even a fresh body or a young person. I get that cougars are all the rage these days, but do yourself a solid and grab someone in their 60′s. Maybe they think 88 has all the life experiences they’re looking to learn from…
P.S. They should totally return the body AND make a profit off the steal. Sex and money? A win-win for sure.
